Orientalist Art

Since establishing the first sale dedicated to Orientalist Art in 1998, Christie’s has led the field in this exciting collecting area. The market for Orientalist art has shown extraordinary growth in recent years, from £10.9m (2005) to £16m (2006) to over £25m (2007), driven largely by increased participation of new clients and Christie’s reputation for bringing the finest examples to the market. Our knowledge of this field, together with our relationships with the international collectors who support it, enables Christie’s to present an international platform of the highest quality works with sales of Orientalist art around the world.

Christie’s offers dedicated auctions of Orientalist Art in London, and also offers Orientalist works in New York and Paris, where there is a special focus on 20th century Arab and Iranian art.
