Christie’s New York sale of Masterworks of Ancient & Imperial China features fine white jades from three private collections including the Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Manheim; important Buddhist sculptures from three important sites, namely Yungang Caves, Tianlongshan Caves, Longmen Caves, including an important head of Buddha from the Collection of Walter and Molly Bareiss. Outstanding archaic bronzes, lacquer, and gilt-metal from the Shang dynasty to the Qianlong period will also be offered for sale.
