We were particularly pleased with the performance of the British Drawings and Watercolours, which far exceeded pre-sale expectations and highlighted the enduring demand for Master Drawings from private collections, most notably for works by Turner, Constable and Fuseli. Guardi’s magnificent view of Venice was sold immediately after the sale to a private collector.
