Christie’s Impressionist & Modern Art auction series in Paris concluded with a total of €25,742,431 reuniting bidders from more than 42 countries.

The Art Impressionniste & Moderne : Œuvres choisies sale celebrated the 150 years of Impressionism and achieved great success with 96% of lots sold. Matisse et Terrus by André Derain, painted in 1905, led the way realising €3,200,000, confirming the importance of this rediscovery. Concert on the Green painted by Françoise Gilot sets the new world record for the artist. Alongside Berthe Morisot's La petite fille aux cheveux blonds, which more than doubled its estimate, this record confirms the trend for women artists.

The following day, the Art Impressionniste & Moderne auction produced strong results, led by the Opus 8, Construction mécanique of Belgium Artist Victor Servranckx. This work sold €403,200 - four times its pre-sale estimate - establishes a new world record for the artist. These results also include the acquisition of an Autoportrait of Emile Bernard by the Musée de Pont-Aven.

The 100th anniversary of the Surrealist Manifesto was celebrated by the successful sale of Man Ray's works from the Marion Meyer collection. Among the sale’s top lot, Le Violon d’Ingres was sold €151,200, doubling its estimate. The bidders showed keen interest on Man Ray’s “objets de mon affection”, such as the Pain Peint, sold €176,400, more than eight times its estimate.

The last Parisian chapter of the Sam Josefowitz collection, presenting a selection of Symbolists and Impressionists prints was marked by a strong interest in Odilon Redon’s works.
