Judaica

Christie’s has a distinguished record offering Judaica art works of exceptional quality, ranging from important Hebrew manuscripts and books, silver and related works of art. Christie’s considers each object within a broad collecting context, offering Judaica in a variety of auctions such as Silver, Works of Art, Books and Manuscripts and our unique Exceptional sale. Christie’s also works with collectors buying and selling important Judaica in private transactions. We work with specialists and consultants internationally to bring the best expertise and experience to each sale.

Past highlights have included a beautiful German parcel-gilt bessamim or spice tower which sold in our London Collector Sale in November 2020 for £225,000, more than double its presale auction estimate; the Rothschild Torah ark, a masterpiece by the Breslau silversmith Johann Christoph Müller, sold in our New York Silver sale in December 2014 for $1,565,000, and a stunning Mahzor written in Tuscany c. 1490 sold in our Paris Book sale in 2012 for €1.9m.
