From the collection of beloved children’s book author and artist Maurice Sendak comes two exciting auctions of over 130 lots. Offered across one live and one online sale, these auctions bring together original pieces by Sendak and the artworks that fueled his imagination.

Works by George Stubbs, Beatrix Potter and Johann Heinrich Fuseli, sit alongside a David Hockney lithograph and Mickey Mouse memorabilia, providing collectors a peek into the dazzling mind behind such classics as Where the Wild Things Are and In the Night Kitchen. Among the most anticipated lots are two extremely rare William Blake illustrated books, 'Songs of Innocence' and a first edition printing of 'Songs of Experience', whose fantastical visions inspired Sendak’s own dreamlike worlds.

To help ensure that children will continue to be enchanted by the next generation of visual storytellers, these sales will support the Sendak Fellowship at The Maurice Sendak Foundation, a residency program that encourages, teaches and supports artists who tell stories with illustration.
