Supporting British Red Cross

The British Red Cross is here to support people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. From storms in the UK to conflict in Ukraine, earthquakes in Morocco to extreme hunger across sub-Saharan Africa, they are getting life-changing help to those who need it most right now. They are part of the world’s largest humanitarian network, with 16 million local volunteers across 191 countries, and the Red Cross emblem is an internationally recognised symbol of protection.

If recent years have taught us anything, it’s that an emergency can happen to anyone, anywhere. With ever more frequent, severe and complex crises, the work of the British Red Cross has never been more important. Together with their supporters, they are building a movement of kindness to give hope and help to people whose lives have been turned upside down.

Accelerating the impact of African-driven conservation

For over 30 years, Tusk has supported and nurtured a conservation movement across Africa. Under the Royal Patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales, the charity has earned a reputation for providing a highly efficient solution for funding wildlife conservation programmes. By investing over £120m with the most effective local organisations, Tusk has supported their in-depth knowledge and expertise, helping to accelerate growth from an innovative idea to a scaleable solution.

Tusk project partners currently provide vital protection for over 50 million hectares of habitat and more than 40 threatened species. From elephant and wild dog to okapi and mountain gorilla, the charity invests in targeted efforts to bring Africa’s endangered species back from the brink of extinction. These initiatives not only safeguard vital biodiversity, but crucially contribute to the economic livelihoods and wellbeing of more than 10 million people.

Brave Hearts logo

Bravehearts of the North East was inspired by Joanne Gillespie, an incredible 11-year-old who bravely battled a recurring brain tumour in 1988. Her recovery diary became the acclaimed book Brave Heart, inspiring a gala dinner called Bravehearts of the Northeast to raise funds aimed at helping children like her. Mark Knopfler’s band Dire Straits played at the event, raising £35,000 and establishing Bravehearts of the Northeast, with Mark as the Patron. For nearly 35 years, they’ve awarded over 700 children aged five to 16 for their incredible resilience in battling illness, disability, or other challenges, offering joy and encouragement to deserving families.
