The silvered dial signed and numbered Hri Motel hger de la Marine Rle No. 169, Roman hour numerals, blued steel Breguet hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial (at VI) with blued steel hand, Earnshaw escapement with 18,000 train, the pillar plate with substantial brass cock carrying barrel fusee and centre wheel pivot, inscribed No. 169 HRI MOTEL HGER DE LA MARINE RLE, the fusee with Harrison's maintaining power and square with finger stop-work and bevelled gear for external winding, to one side of the pillar plate three brass conical pillars supporting sub-frame assembly which carries fifteen tooth escapewheel with drilled through teeth, Motel pivoted spring detent with jewelled locking stone, mounted above the sub-frame assembly and with conical grey-steel pillars, two brass bridges the uppermost one carrying an adjustable balance spring stud and small bridge with gold capped top balance pivot jewel, Motel four-armed bimetallic balance the impulse jewel with steel protection strip, blued steel conical balance spring, brass drum-shaped bowl with sliding cover to external winding square (at III), stop/start mechanism (at VI - now not functioning), contained in gimballed green velvet lined outer bowl from the bottom of which projects a convex boss which, via the knurled locking arm control in the box locks the bowl and gimbal ring, plain two-tier mahogany box, the top with sliding cover to glazed viewing port, and bone ivory disc to front (unsigned), the bottom with double turn lock and brass key
