A fine 16-bore (2¾in:3in) x 9x63mm:7x57mm 'Model 313E' Bockbüchsflinte over-and-under sidelock ejector combination rifle/shotgun by Gebrüder Merkel, No. 16562
With three sets of interchangeable barrels, bolstered quadruple-grip action-body, hand-detachable lockplates, cocking-indicators, best bold foliate-scroll engraving, the maker's name gold-inlaid on the underside of the action-body, the triggerguard engraved with the head of a chamois, with some hardening-colour, finely-figured stock with semi-pistolgrip and recoil-pad, sling-swivels, each set of barrels with wooden side-fillets and matt solid top-ribs, the rifle barrels with open-sights, the 9mm barrels mounted with a K. Kahles Helia-Super telescopic-sight, the 7mm barrels mounted with a Hensoldt Dural-Dialytan 4x telescopic-sight, each in quickly-detachable mounts
