Lot Essay

Mädchen mit Kaktus was owned by Oskar Reinhart, the son of Hofer's patron Theodor Reinhart. Oskar, like his father, was a passionate collector for most of his life. His collection is now housed in Winterthur, in the Oskar Reinhart Stiftung and covers European painting from the Eighteenth Century to the Twentieth Century.
