The 1904-05 Scottish Cup final between Third Lanark and Rangers was played on 8th April 1905 at Hampden Park before 55,000 spectators, the match ending in a 0-0 draw. In the replay, again played at Hampden Park, on 15th April 1905 before 40,000 spectators, Third Lanark defeated Rangers 3-1.

Bob Barr joined Third Lanark in 1897 and played over 300 games for the club (many as Captain) as a right-back between then and 1910. An integral part of the Third Lanark team during the greatest period of the club's history, Barr won a Championship medal, two Glasgow Cup, one Glasgow Charity Cup and a Glasgow League badge along with the solitary Cup final win in 1904-05.
