Royal 4 (287 x 223mm). French dark blue morocco gilt by Derome le jeune, covers with drawer-handle and single fillet border enclosing a broad dentelle composed of small flower-head tools, dots, circles and swags, later gilt Signet Library supralibros at centre of both covers, spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in one, the others with repeat decoration of small dots and circles surrounding central tool of stylised foliage, turn-ins gilt with flower and foliage roll, (very light scuffing at spine), pink watered silk endleaves, g.e., Derome's ticket on front freeendpaper (very light scuffing at spine). Provenance: Edinburgh, Society of Writers to the Signet, library (binding).
