this letter discusses the progress of Gracie's book The Truth About the TITANIC which he had nearly completed at the time of writing, written to Charles Vale who has noted to the top Gracie's last letter to me - he died Dec 4th -; and a first edition book of the same published by Mitchell Kennerley, 1913 -- 5½ x 7½in. This letter, addressed to Charles Vale, was written about a week before Gracie died. Vale mentions in his concluding note that Gracies death was brought on ..by exposure and strain from the Titanic disaster. Until the early 1960's, the letter had been stapled in the front of the book
