Two Indian Katars, One Made For A Child
Both 18th Century
The first with double-edged blade (some pitting) strongly reinforced towards the point, the forte with recessed panel on each side cut with three converging ridges and damascened in gold with a tiger and an elephant, iron hilt damascened in gold with flowering foliage, and gold-damascened grip of seven slender bars; the second with double-edged blade reinforced towards the point with a medial ridge on each side, iron hilt damascened with gold foliage, and linked baluster handles en suite, in green velvet-covered wooden scabbard with side-pocket containing an iron knife and scraper
