See for the portrait of the sitter as King of Sweden by Georg Norwic (1718-1794) G. Biermann, Deutsches Barock und Rokoko, 1914, I, p.132, fig.210 and II, p.XXXVIII.

The sitter received the order of the Black Eagle of Prussia in 1700, when he married Luise Dorothea Sophie, Princess of Preussen (1680-1705). He became Friedrich I, King of Sweden in 1720.
