Small 4 (157 x 115mm). Hand-coloured engraved additional title and 19 hand-coloured double-page engraved maps by Verbist (one in facsimile), on guards. Woodcut armorial on dedication, woodcut typographical ornaments, also hand-coloured. (Title and dedication leaf soiled and repaired at margins, marginal repairs to last two maps, old brown stain at lower blank margins.) Modern brown morocco gilt.
A RARE ATLAS. Apparently a variant of the first edition, corresponding with Koeman's Verb 1, except for minor differences in the wording of the letterpress title. Editions were also printed in 1644 and 1652. The map of Frisia is in facsimile. Koeman III. Verb 1, locating only one copy.
