The body of pear shape, the two-piece back of medium curl, the ribs similar, the table of medium grain, the back and front edged with ebony diagonals with ink purfling lines, the soundhole edged with ink purfling lines, the table set with a detachable mechanism for striking the strings with felted hammers with seven ivory keys, the tortoiseshell fingerboard with twelve brass frets, the pegbox set with watch-key brass tuners with tuning key and terminating in a tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl faced ebony finial
