The ivory back decorated with battle scenes in the style of the 16th century, the ivory ribs decorated with scenes from Genesis depicting from the top lefthand rib, The Creation of the Animals, of Adam and Eve, the Temptation, the Expulsion from the Garden of Eden, Labour, Cain and Abel and Noah, the table and neck edged with ivory lozenges, the table also set with an ivory cupid, the soundhole and foot of the table decorated with tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl inlay, the fingerboard and front of the headstock inlaid with tortoiseshell and ivory engraved with a hunting scene, the back of the neck decorated with alternating ivory and ebony lozenges, the pegbox set with reverse pegs for six single courses
