An Austrian Bronze Cannon Barrel
Mid-18th Century
Multi-staged, with raised astragals and a pronounced moulding at the muzzle, finely cast and chased with rococo ornament in relief, mostly on a punched ground, and on the first reinforce with the crowned imperial double-headed eagle charged with the crowned Austrian Bindenschild, the lifting handles formed as lions in the round, the chase spirally fluted (some damage, vent altered, cascabel apparently missing)
