An HMV cardboard miniature gramophone,
a souvenir model of the miniature Model 200 gramophone made for Queen Mary's Dolls' house at the 1924 Wembley Exhibition -- 4in. (10.2cm.) high

Lot Essay

Supplied as a souvenir of the Gramophone Company stand at Wembley, in the form of a flat card for cutting out and folding together. A legend on the side claims 'This is an exact copy of the miniature "His Master's Voice" gramophone in the Queen's Dolls' house exhibited at the Art Section of the British Empire Exhibition, Wembley'. In fact, the winding handle is printed in the normal position (as it appeared on the non-working replica on the Gramophone Co. stand), not lower down as on the working model.
