MUHAMMAD ALI & LEON SPINKS I SCORECARDS
The three judges' summary scorecards showing the round by round scoring and totals, and the forty-five individual round scorecards filled out after each round by each judge for the first historic fight between Muhammad Ali and Leon Spinks on February 15, 1978 in Las Vegas. Spinks scored a split decision win after fifteen rounds and captured the Heavyweight Championship title. The fight was scored by judges Harold Buck (144-141 for Spinks), Art Lurie (143-142 for Ali) and Lou Tabat (145-140 for Spinks). These important prize-fighting documents are significant because they preserve in writing one of the biggest upsets in the history of the heavyweight division. They represent only the second example of any official scorecards known to survive from any of Ali's sixty-one professional bouts. All are in excellent condition with some edge wear to a few.
