AN APULIAN RED-FIGURE HYDRIA

circa 340 b.c.
With a draped woman and a nude youth on either side of a pedimented stele tied with a black ribbon, with palmettes on the base, the woman left, holding a wreath and a phiale, leaning on a pillar, the youth seated on his mantle, with a branch in his right hand, a rosette and a fillet in the field; with a large palmette complex below the handle, a band of laurel on the neck, with a band of meander and saltire square below
