A 1996 Martin OM-28 VR
Serial No. 571028, in natural finish, rosewood body with herring-bone binding, spruce top, mahogany neck, twenty fret ebony fingerboard with diamond-shaped inlays, ebony pin bridge and imitation tortoise-shell pickguard; and a black hardshell contour case with green plush lining and Lee Dickson's handwritten adhesive paper label Martin. The OM-28 [Orchestra Model] was first introduced in 1929 after a request from Perry Bechtel for a fourteen fret neck-to-body junction to give better upper register access.
Eric Clapton told us ..."This guitar has a fabulous sound. I find it hard to part with this one...". Lee Dickson recalls that Clapton used this guitar on the recording sessions for the Pilgrim album.
