The red, white and blue pennant with alternately coloured cottom-trimmed sides and white linen centre section elaboratley painted throughout with harvest motifes [fruit/foliage etc..] culminating at the top with lyres, cherubs and flowers leading up to a patriotic quay side scene showing the harvests bounty prepared for export being watched by the helmeted figure of Mercury and with a trading frigate starting her voyage, all surrounded by theatrical 'curtains', the lower section with banners reading KOOPHANDEL & ZEEVAART E.TENKATE.J.BAKKER, the pennant attached to a calico covered turned baton with carved gilt finials, faintly signed on calico H. Merboom, red ribbons distributed along baton to gold-painted block for masthead securing 525cm. long
