Ex aquatilibus et reptilibus, [Nuremberg]: Typis Voegelianis, 1605. 4 parts in one volume, 4 (187 x 145mm.), four engraved allegorical title pages and 400 round emblematic plates with Latin distichs beneath, and with Latin explanations in prose on opposite pages (some slight browning, engraved general title and dedication bound in at end), contemporary vellum (slightly soiled, some minor worming to joints).
Second edition title page, but with all 4 works in first edition state, dated 1590, 1595, 1596 and 1604 respectively. The 400 engraved emblems are regarded by Thieme-Becker as among the best of their kind, and are attributable either to Hans Sibmacher or Hans Schroder (title page to the first work monogrammed 'HS' in the lower right corner).
