the scale divided 5- 0- 97 with elaborately engraved brass index arm, vernier clamp, signed on the cross bar Lyons Bristol 1807, ivory capped pencil insitu, two double pinhole sights, two interchangeable shades, three mirrors; the reverse with inset ivory note plate and brass feet, overall length -- 16.1/8in. (41cm.)

Godfrey Lyons only worked between 1807 and 1811 from St. Thomas St. Bristol becoming a broker only thereafter.
