Lot Essay

The 'Sintrax' was first designed as a chemical filtering machine for laboratories but soon found its way into modern households under the guise of a coffee machine. The earliest examples, with their poorly designed filters proved problematic and were actually known to explode. Over time, the design was improved upon and the percolators became so popular that they were further developed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld between 1930 - 1934.
