Name:Brian Samuel, Sex:Boy, Name and surname of father:Harry Epstein, Name, surname, and maiden surname of mother:Minnie Epstein formerly Hyman, Occupation of father:House Furnisher (Shopkeeper) 197 Queens Drive, Wavertree U.D. registered on:Twelfth October 1934 -- 6½x14½in. (16.5x36.8cm.); a Memorial Service card for Brian Epstein's service at the New London Synagogue, 33 Abbey Road, St. John's Wood, London N.W.8, Tuesday, 17th October, 1967, at 6-0 p.m. -- 3½x4½in. (8.9x11.5cm.); and an autograph letter, signed, in Brian Epstein's hand, entitled The Last Will and Testament of the writer Brian Samuel Epstein, dated 21st February, 1956, signed by Epstein however the signature unwitnessed, the letter divided into four paragraphs leaving his estate to his immediate family apart from his clothes which he requests are to be sent to the State of Israel and his record collection, magazines and theatrical programmes which are left to a great friend Brendan H.Garry; Epstein also states I desire that no "Kaddish" should be performed in my memory and that mourning should not last longer than seven days!, Epstein's final paragraph reads: I desire that my Mother Father and Brother know of my eternal love for them... 2pp. (3)

Lot Essay

This unwitnessed will was written by Epstein when he was twenty-two years old. Although not valid, it is the only known copy of a will for Brian Epstein who died intestate eleven years later on August 27th, 1967. This letter featured in the Arena two part TV documentary 'The Brian Epstein Story', 26th and 27th December, 1998.
