shield shaped with reposeé relief around an enamelled white ensign within a life ring with anchors and laurels either side and inscription reading 13TH. DECEMBER 1939 South Atlantic Squadron H.M.S. EXETER H.M.S. AJAX, H.M.S. Achillies commemorating DESTRUCTION of GRAF SPEE , pinned to a composite wood mount with stand (later) -- 6¾in. (17cm.) high
