A collection of cut signatures, many on 12° cards, and autograph letters pasted or inserted loosely into an oblong quarto album, quarter-bound in blue calf (binding worn), including the signatures of various politicians such as Winston Churchill, Randolph Churchill, David Lloyd George (on a House of Commons embossed card), Asquith, Chamberlain, Gladstone, John Bright and Robert Baden Powell; literary figures including Mark Twain, Jerome K. Jerome, Bertrand Russell, Rudyard Kipling and H. Rider Haggard; musicians, singers and actors such as Fritz Kreisler, Enrico Caruso, Henry J. Wood, Wilhem Backhaus, Nellie Melba, John Philip Sousa, Dan Leno and Ellen Terry; the cricketers W. G. Grace and C. B. Fry; the explorers R.F. Scott, Ernest Shackleton and Roald Amundsen; together with various typed and autograph letters including a 4pp autograph letter, 8°, signed 'Marie Corelli', from Mason Court, November 15th 1915, to Mrs Walton, telling of her recent illness, expressing her wishes for peace and hoping that 'Monsieur Courbet' would give a lecture on French authors in the near future.
