Lot Essay

Amerigio Martinucci was a ceramist and silversmith from Argentina who stayed in San Gimigniano. He was not only portrayed by Hamel, but also twice by Wim Schuhmacher (see: J. van Geest, Wim Schuhmacher De Meester van het Grijs, Arnhem 1991, (ed. 1997), p. 216 and p. 254, no. 101 and 354 (ill.).
