Lot Essay

The present work was done by the artist after a plaster version he created in 1946-47 (now destroyed) and is the tallest metal sculpture he ever realised. An up-dated version in granite (with lentil-shaped band) is standing in front of the Deutsche Bank headquarters in Frankfurt am Main.
