A Dutch (?) Riding-Sword
Mid-17th Century
With tapering double-edged blade with a central fuller on each face at the forte, iron half-basket hilt comprising asymmetrical side-rings each filled with an engraved plate (engraving worn, both plates holed), the outer side-ring joined to the pommel by a slender bar (old repairs, one broken) linked to the knuckle-guard by scrolling bars, downcurved rear quillon with knob-shaped tip, compressed faceted pommel, and original wire-bound grip (some pitting throughout)
