A late 18th Century gilt on copper gorget, engraved with small pre-1801 Royal Arms flanked by letters G and R, above inscription LYNN LOYAL VOLUNTEERS (gilt largely rubbed, now fitted with incorrect rosettes)

Lot Essay

The Lynn Volunteers were raised in Norfolk in 1794 under Captain (later Lieutenant-Colonel) Edward Everard. They were still operational in 1805, but by 1807 had either been disbanded or absorbed into another Norfolk Volunteer unit.
