signed on the movement C. BRUGUIER GENEVE, with fusee movement and four pairs of cams operating in succession, the bird with coloured plumage, swivelling perch and neck and moving bone beak, wings and tail, the lid with enamel landscape exterior and internal automoton bichromate gilt automaton scene of a lyre-player and an erotic scene beneath an arch, in silver gilt case chased with foliate scrolls and flowers on engine-turned grounds, the top further embellished with applied silver and bichromate gilt flowers and blue enamel scrolls, the front with a watch in the centre, with hinged flap at rear, with agate-mounted gilt winding key for the bird movement -- 3½in. (9.2cm.) wide
