A rare late 19th-Century brass "Watson's New Model Binocular Microscope",
the 6¼-inch diameter platform base signed W. WATSON & SONS 313 High Holborn LONDON 1466, the body-tubes with rack and pinion focusing, micrometer fine adjustment, two prisms, HOLOS 25m/m 0.25 N.A. objective, the circuit stage signed Watson & Sons Patent No 42 , with micrometer slide adjuster, silvered horizontal circle, the body-tubes located on a shaped limb from the vertical pillar support with finely divided scales, the sub-stage condenser with rack and pinion vertical motion, condenser lens with fine-screw centering adjustment, the sub-stage plano-concave mirror located by a slide over a second silvered horizontal circle arranged to rotate on the tripod base, contained in the original mahogany case -- 23½in. (60cm.) high
