Lot Essay

In the catalogue of the sale in 1991, it was noted that the attribution of this painting and the following lot to Giovanni, the son of Angelo Maria, had been suggested by Dr. John T. Spike, on the basis of photographs. He compared the paintings to the Pigeon Loft, signed by the artist and illustrated in Luigi Salerno, La natura morta italiana, 1984, fig. 105.
