Robbie Mimms -- Dear son, I was sick all day the next day but am alright now. Thomas Cockrell is selling out the furniture in his father's house and I have bought a couch and I want you to come after me in the big wagon so that we can take it home ... Have you heard from Lattie, I am going to write her tonight. How are you getting along. I am very well satisfied that Alice and Bess are well. Susie Smith is in Hamilton, cousin Annie is going to move and keep house for Mr, Ralston's brother in law. Bessie is in a hurry so I must close. I am not worrying at all but come after me .. Your loving mother." Written just before Jesse James Jr. was acquitted of train robbery on the Missouri Pacific Railroad near Kansas City on September 23, 1898. Zerelda 'Zee' Mimms married Jesse James at Kearny, Missouri on April 24, 1874. The union produced two children, Mary James, and Jesse James Jr. Both were born while the couple was in hiding near Nashville Tennessee along with Frank and Anna James. Extremely rare and addressed to their son and Jesse's namesake.
