A KARURA SOMEN [FULL FACE MASK]

The well formed mask in red-lacquered leather with yadome [standing flanges] on the cheeks and plates, pierced with inome [boars-eyes] on the cheeks, in front of the ears and on the nose, the brow plate embossed with seven round studs and a pair of pigeons (symbols of the war god Hachiman) and edged with a strip of gilded leather, the interior red lacquered
