He studied illustration for three years at The Bournemouth College of Art and he later visited Florence where he studied fine art under Patrick Hamilton. For his first years he concentrated on portraits of houses and then during a visit to Kenya, was totally captivated by the vast and dramatic landscape. For the past fourteen years he has been specialising in watercolours of these landscapes (predominately Kenya). He paints from life - on safari - sleeping in the bush, and has driven form Kenya to South Africa via Namibia. This approach enables him to capture changing lights and the tremendous moods of Africa. He has held nine exhibitions in England, Africa and the USA.
