A collection of eighteen 19th Century microscope slides,
by Richard Souter, Norman and other preparers, each with specimens from soundings taken during the Challenger Expedition, each labelled with latitude, longitude and depth in fathoms of the sounding specimen, contained in three trays of six slides in pine case -- 8in. (20.2cm.) wide; a mahogany slide case containing fifty-one various slides of botanical, entomological and other subjects, the case -- 75/8in. (19.2cm.) wide; and a small cloth-covered microscope slide box containing six engravings on glass by William Webb, with an original pamphlet (some staining) describing the microscopic diamond writings and engravings by W. Webb, exhibited at the International Exhibition (A Lot)
