The dial with applied silvered chapter ring with engraved Roman and Arabic numerals within engraved arcading, foliate and scallop engraved gilt centre, later hands, scallop and foliate engraved spandrels, strike/silent lever by chapter IX, the movement with hexagonal plates secured by five gilt baluster pillars, the top-plate signed Hans John, Königs Berth, foliate chased and engraved gilt-metal bridge to the blued steel barrel click, later foliate engraved brass platform for the regulation and balance cock, the partially re-trained movement with fusee and chain to the spring barrel with pinned cap, resting barrel for the strike on a bell within the hinged lower cover of the case on winged claw-and-ball feet, the hexagonal sides typically glazed within D-ended panels; within a brown leather travelling case with foliate engraved lock to the front, the brass portal cover engraved with the initials CGVK and below that engraved with a crowned eagle and military trophy
