The case with raised hollow cornered rectangular panel to the double-skirted plinth beneath the glazed trunk door, stop chamfered brass-reeded angles, similar angles to the shallow-arched hood, the silvered regulator dial signed John Thwaites, Rosamon Street, Clerkenwell above the minutes ring enclosing a wide diameter seconds ring above the hour aperture, well sculpted movement hand, later? seconds hand, the movement with long shouldered thick brass plates secured by front-pinned vase-shaped pillars, the high-count train with six crossings to each wheel, maintaining power, Graham-type deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets, the steel-rod mercury glass jar pendulum suspended from a brass bracket secured atop the movement plates
