Kitagawa Utamaro (1754-1806)
Three prints, the first a full-length portrait of Okita of the Naniwaya printed on both sides of the paper, the 'front' showing Okita holding in her left hand a cup and saucer and in her right a box containing smoking materials, the 'back' showing the rest of the box, the back of the figure and the cup from the other side, unsigned, publisher unknown; the second and the third two uchiwa-e (fan-shaped prints) of beauties, the second holding a tea cup, signed Utamaro hitsu and published by Iseya Kichijuro, the third holding a fan, signed Utamaro hitsu--good impressions, faded, soiled, pin holes, rubbed, worming restored, horizontal creases, stained especially along ribs of fans, fans laid down on paper hosoban: 30.2 x 13.1cm., the first; uchiwa-e: 18.4 x 26.2cm., the second; and 19.5 x 26.6cm., the third (3)
