Lot Essay

Shantanu Ukil was born in Calcutta 25 July 1927 and trained at the Sarada Ukil School of Art, New Delhi the Tama College of Art, Kyoto, Japan and the Berlin Academy of Arts, East Germany.
He has exhibited his paintings and lectured on Modern Indian Art extensively in India and the rest of the world.
