A RARE .44 PATERSON COLT NO.2 RING LEVER RIFLE, NO. 55, CIRCA 1838
One piece octagonal barrel (probably shortened) marked Patent Arms M'g. Co. Paterson, N.J.-Colt's Pt. with loading lever, eight shot round shoulder cylinder (no scene), frame with capping channel, top strap/hammer shroad with section broken through, varnished walnut stock with butt plate
24 1/8 inch (61.2cm.) barrel
Barrel probably shortened as noted, replacement rear sight, frame and tangs with much pitting, frame with crack, lever with repair, stock with repairs, largely matching throughout (butt plate number obscured)
