Further details
The above fight is arguably one of the most controversial fights to have taken place during Cassius Clay's career.

Near the end of the fourth round a left-hook from Henry Cooper sent Cassius Clay to the canvas and he was saved by the bell and helped back to his corner. A rip in his left glove was noticed by his trainer Angelo Dundee who later admitted that he had aggravated the tear. By bringing the torn glove to the attention of the referee, Dundee gained Clay valuable recovery time, enabling him to continue and eventually defeat Cooper 1 minute and ten seconds into the fifth round.
