A LONG-SLEEVED DINNER DRESS OF CREAM PLEATED SILK,
BY CATHERINE WALKER

The upper bodice and sleeves of this dress are embroidered with shimmering flowers whose stamens are formed of glass beads and leaves of simulated pearls. The cuffs each have three large paste and simulated pearl buttons and the wide leather belt, covered in white silk crepe, is trimmed with a large medallion of paste and simulated pearls. This dress was worn by the Princess at an official reception in London in 1982, and in Nepal in 1993.
