Seated on a tree-stump, his head turned to the left and with his hands tucked into the sleeves of his white robe painted with puce ornament and with an iron-red sash, his black conical hat with green-lined upturned brim and wearing black shoes, on a circular base (part of tree-stump lacking, chip to tip of shoe, brim of hat and two slight chips to edge of sash), red anchor mark
