Collection of five documents signed by Spanish rulers, all in Spanish, comprising

HENRY IV (King of Castile, 1454-1474). Document signed ('Yo el Rey'), Segovia, 26 February 1455, one page 4to (277 x 299mm.), countersigned, reverse with papered seal and annotations. Confirming the privileges bestowed on a convent by Don Juan Manuel, the founder and the Kings of Castile.

FERDINAND II (V) (King of Aragon, 'the Catholic', 1479-1516). Letter signed ('Yo el Rey') to the Adelantado of Murcia, no place, 8 February 1506, one page 4to (283 x 209mm.), torn with loss. Informing the Adelantado that his daughter and son-in-law have left Flanders for Spain.

HADRIAN VI (Pope, 1522-1523). Document signed as Cardinal Bishop of Tortosa and sole Regent of Spain in the absence of Carlos I (V), Cordesillas, 30 April 1521, one page folio (304 x 210mm.).. Concerning an appointment for Rodrigo Pacheco.

CHARLES I (King of Spain, 1516-1556). Two documents signed ('Yo el Rey'), the first Valladolid, 14 July 1527, half page folio (424 x 298mm.), the reverse with papered seal and annotations, tears, slightly soiled. Concerning the position of Rodrigo Pacheco; the second a letter signed to Don Egas Vanegas at Lurque, Barcelona, 1 May 1543, one page folio (296 x 200mm.), stains. Requesting Vanegas to return to Barcelona, to be prepared for French aggression and referring to the problems on the borders of Germany and Hungary.

and three letters signed from Carlos de Borja, Duke of Gandia, son of St. Francis Borgia (1510-1572), who had renounced his title in 1551 on becoming a Jesuit priest. (8)
